No, Covid vaccines are not designed for depopulation
Five reasons the theory just doesn't add up
During a podcast recorded in June, Dr. Peter McCullough - the Texas cardiologist who recently appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast - argued that the Covid vaccines are the "second wave" of a campaign of "bioterrorism." The first wave, he explained, was the Covid virus itself, which was designed "to kill the old people by the respiratory infection." The vaccines, on the other hand, are designed "to take the survivors and target the young people and sterilize them."
"If you said this is all a Gates Foundation program to reduce the population," he added, "it’s fitting pretty well with that hypothesis.”
Given the huge numbers of vaccinated people, it seems fair to say that the belief that the Covid vaccines are part of a deliberate plot to depopulate the planet is not mainstream. Neither, however, is it exactly fringe. The idea is ubiquitous in vaccine-skeptical media and on social media platforms like Telegram. The more hardcore vaccine skeptics frequently use the term "genocide" to describe the vaccination effort, and express their aspirations for a new Nuremberg trial to punish the guilty (the executives of Pfizer, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, etc.)
I originally wrote this article months ago, but never published it, for the simple reason that I assumed the vaccines-as-depopulation theory would die out, collapsing under the weight of the myriad implausibilities needed to maintain it, as well as the lack of evidence in support of it. However, the persistence of this theory among the vaccine skeptics I personally know, as well as the recent appearance of McCullough on the Joe Rogan show, has made me rethink things.
Although I am now vaccinated, I began as a Covid vaccine skeptic due to concerns about the speed with which these vaccines were developed, and I still have some significant concerns about the vaccination campaign (in particular, the mandates). However, for a host of reasons, it seems obvious to me that the vaccines-as-tool-for-depopulation theory is not only false, but pure poison, and must be renounced even by those with serious misgivings about the vaccine campaign.
Those who go down the rabbit hole of this theory end up in a stifling epistemic isolation chamber, in which every single major global health care authority, media institution, university, and hospital, as well as the overwhelming majority of the millions of individual doctors, nurses, and medical researchers, are not only oblivious to, but in many cases actively complicit in a genocidal campaign of unprecedented scope and bloodthirstiness conducted on the global scale. As a consequence, they come to view every single statement by any public health authority, any dataset published by any government, and any study published in any academic journal, as de facto part of the plot, and therefore untrustworthy.
This worldview precludes any possibility of engaging in good-faith, fact- or data-based arguments about almost any aspect of Covid, including the depopulation theory itself, since any study or dataset or expert that undermines the theory is dismissed as unreliable. Conversely, every statement made by a vaccine-skeptical rogue doctor or commentator, no matter how extreme, is welcomed as, if not necessarily true, then at least plausible, since once you have accepted as fact the universal capture of every global institution by genocidal population controllers, absolutely everything is believable. For those who endorse this theory, there is simply no way out of the labyrinth.
For this reason, rather than citing studies showing that, for instance, there is no 82% post-vaccine miscarriage rate (as some vaccines-as-depopulation theorists have claimed), I will instead explicate five corollaries that follow if the vaccines-as-depopulation theory is true, but that I take as being self-evidently preposterous, and which therefore call the whole theory into question. The hope is that these might puncture a hole in the wall of the labyrinth, and let in some fresh air.
So, without further ado, my five implausible corollaries of the vaccines-as-depopulation theory:
1) Trump is personally responsible for the greatest genocide in human history
I admit, this may not be the strongest argument against the vaccines-as-depopulation theory, but it is certainly one of the weirdest, and also the one that gets most directly at the irrationality and cognitive dissonance that are necessary to keep the theory alive.
Consider:
Fact #1: Trump personally launched Operation Warp Speed, which gave us the Covid vaccines in record time. Trump routinely boasts about how developing these vaccines was one of the great accomplishments of his presidency.
Fact #2: Polls and studies show that in the United States pro-Trump/MAGA supporters are significantly more likely to skip the vaccines. It is also overwhelmingly pro-Trump news outlets that are giving people like Yeadon, McCullough and Kirsch a platform to promote their theories.
Put these two together, and you have the bizarre situation where significant portions of MAGA are left trying to balance the belief that Trump is the greatest president in U.S. history, but also that the Covid vaccines he and his administration developed are part of a plot by the global elite to sterilize or murder billions of people, i.e. the most evil plot in all of human history.
But if the second part of that sentence is true, it would seem the first can't. Unless, that is, you are willing to concede that a man who personally launched and still boasts about a campaign of vaccine-induced genocide is the country's greatest president. Which strikes me as betraying a shockingly cynical view of U.S. history.
2) Liberals and the global elite are sterilizing/killing themselves first
The polling is quite clear: in the United States, it is the so-called "liberal elites" who were first in line for the vaccines. Far more Democrats than Republicans have been vaccinated. Similar patterns are emerging elsewhere: in general, conservative-leaning anti-establishment types are saying 'no thank you,' while members of the liberal white collar class are rushing to get vaccinated (and boosted) the minute they're eligible.
Looked at this way, if the "vaccines as tool for depopulation" theory is correct, then the leaders of the Great Reset have concocted a brilliant plan, almost flawlessly executed, to wipe out everyone who agrees with them and their worldview, while leaving behind the remnant of anti-globalist, vaccine-skeptical conservatives to inherit the earth.
So, score...I guess?
3) The global superpowers are targeting their own populations for death/sterilization first
This one is similar to proposition #2, but writ large.
The United States, Russia, the UK, India, China, and other major world powers have independently partnered with pharmaceutical companies to develop Covid vaccines, and then promptly rolled those vaccines out to their own citizens first. Only after they prioritized their citizens have they made arrangements to send vaccines elsewhere.
In which case, it seems that the health authorities and politicians in each of these superpowers have decided to rapidly sterilize and/or kill huge portions of their own populations...
...and that they are doing this precisely at a time when many of these nations have been waking up to a looming demographic winter, and are now proactively incentivizing baby-making.
China, for instance, just recently lifted its already-liberalized two-child policy, allowing (indeed, encouraging) couples to have three children. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin, who is anxiously encouraging his citizens to get the Sputnik V vaccine, has said that the country's demographic crisis is the most urgent issue facing the country. Russia has long been encouraging couples to have more kids with all sorts of incentives, including (weirdly enough) giving couples days off work so they can go shag and make babies for the Motherland.
So, somehow we are to believe that the leaders of these global superpowers all agreed, with one hand, to push sterilizing and/or genocidal vaccines on their own citizenry at the behest of some shadowy global elite in pursuit of rapid population reduction, while prioritizing resources to incentivize baby-making to ward off a demographic winter with the other hand?
Nah, I'm good.
4) Dozens of independent pharmaceutical companies with hundreds of thousands of employees colluded with the proponents of the Great Reset to create different vaccines using different technologies that were all secretly designed to sterilize and/or kill people...and nobody said, "hang on a minute"
As of this writing, there are twenty-nine different approved Covid vaccines. All of these vaccines were produced by different pharmaceutical companies in different countries. Many of them use completely different technologies. They then had to go through approval processes, being vetted by hordes of scientists and bureaucrats in the health agencies in the hundreds of countries where they are being distributed.
Follow this process through, and there are some millions of people involved in the process of the development, manufacture, approval, distribution, and study of these vaccines. These millions of scientists, physicians, politicians, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, doctors, nurses and others hail from all parts of the globe, and all have their own areas of expertise and their own political, social, religious and ethical loyalties.
The "vaccine-as-depopulation" theorists, however, would have us believe that Klaus Schwab, or Bill Gates, or the WHO, somehow got to and captured every single one of these pharmaceutical companies and every single one of these national health agencies and every single one of these universities and researchers, and got them all to secretly develop and approve a host of vaccines with powerful hidden mechanisms that will leave swathes of dead or sterilized people in their wake, and that nobody flat out said "no," blew the whistle, or figured out or has produced hard evidence to prove the existence of this plot.
Also, these vaccine companies are mandating the vaccines for their own employees.
Yes, conspiracies happen. As vaccine skeptics are fond of reminding their critics, Stalin and Hitler happened. Evil is real. It could happen again. However, the breathtaking scope of this particular conspiracy, if real, would make Hitler and Stalin look like toddlers playing in a sandbox by comparison.
5) These same pharmaceutical companies are killing and/or sterilizing their future customer base
Vaccine skeptics are fond of saying that we should "follow the money". By this, they mean that since the vaccines are netting the vaccine companies billions of dollars, we should assume that their motives are not humanitarian (as they claim), but rather nakedly selfish.
Which is a perfectly fine point to make. Trusting pharmaceutical companies is certainly not a hobby I recommend to anybody. However, even if this is true, it is not at all obvious that "follow the money" supports the vaccines-as-depopulation theory. Indeed, rapid, genocidal population reductions would be economically devastating for these companies, which rely on a large population base that needs their many pharmaceutical products, including ongoing Covid booster vaccines.
Killing and/or sterilizing large numbers of people would rapidly reduce the number of people who need their products, and thus hugely cut into their bottom line in very short order. Meanwhile, those remnant left alive after the plot comes to fruition would probably not be super-inclined to try out Pfizer's next non-population-reducing vaccine or drug, for obvious reasons.
Sure, pharmaceutical executives may be greedy bastards, but completely obliterating their companies to make a few billion dollars on one short-lived product just isn't good business.
Conclusion
To summarize, in order to believe the theory that the vaccines are designed for depopulation, you also have to believe (at a minimum) that Trump is a genocidal maniac or the greatest dupe in history, liberals are lining up to sterilize and/or kill themselves, every major superpower on earth is willingly decimating its own population, and that the overwhelming majority of politicians, doctors and scientists in every country on the planet are either dupes, or willing participants in a global campaign of genocide.
I mean, it's a theory alright.
Yes, there are problems with the vaccine campaign. The mandates are completely unnecessary and unhelpful from a public health perspective, particularly now that Omicron is here, and are increasingly toying with the vindictive and totalitarian. And with what we now know about the link between the vaccines and myocarditis, transverse myelitis, bloodclots and guillain-barre syndrome it seems evident that these are not the world’s safest vaccines.
And yet, those who are most effectively pushing back against the premature orthodoxies of the mainstream narrative (I’m particularly fond of Dr. Vinay Prasad and Dr. John Ioannidis) are not those who have sequestered themselves in a conspiratorial epistemic bunker, launching polemical hand grenades at anyone and everyone who vaguely expresses support for the vaccines, accusing them of being complicit in genocide. If we’re going to end the mandates, and nuance the discussion about vaccine safety, we’re going to have to ditch the false and unhelpful “depopulation” angle.
